An alarm clock for my bedroom so I can leave my phone downstairs while I sleep.

Man alive is it comfy! I just grin every time I sit in it now.
Just ordered a new rifle, which should be waiting at my dealer when I get home from this work rotation.
It's a Tikka T3x Tac A1 in .308. I'm still deciding on glass to put on it!

Awesome. What are you going to kill with it?
I'd say not to bother with cordless at that price point.
You get what you pay with batteries! They are heavier too.
Cordless is great for that quick job type thing, drilling wood, putting in screws etc. But any real amount of brick drilling they are heavy and limited. I find my SDS weighs less than my battery drill so if doing a remotely big job above shoulder height is worth the effort of running power cables to get a better finish in less time.
However I own 4 drills, so probably have a bit of a problem considering I only use them once a quarter or so.

They look like really good bang for the buck
I have a Leupold LRT 8.5-25 X 50 on my Steyr SSG in .308. The scopes got 70 MOA of adjustment so it can get me out to 1000 yards, although my rifle and ammo combo struggles at that distance. Hopefully work up a custom load for it this year, the club RFD has been working loads up for members to run at range. The scopes good until you compare it to something like a Nightforce, then again I have seen 2nd hand leupolds selling for about what I paid for the rifle + scope on the 2nd hand market.
As to what have I just purchased. Some sewing needles and thread to fix buckles on my kayaking PFD (life jacket), and fix the seat on my canoe.
I settled on a Vortex Viper PST 5-25x50 FFP with an MRAD reticle.
I looked at Nightforce and Zeiss, but Vortex is a lot cheaper, has a great reputation, and the newer generation are supposed to be excellent. I have about 600 yards available to me now, at least easily, which is well within the capability of .308. A lot of serious shooters are going toward 6.5 Creedmore. I'm not that good, so the cheaper .308 ammunition and longer barrel life will make it a lot cheaper for me to practice!
