    Cant buy from USA

    Hi All

Was wondering, im based in the UK and is it just me or can any else here NOT buy nething from the USA online? I tried to buy some shoes from the USA from footlocker (almost half price there!!!) and they wont process my order. Do you think its something to do with the high dollar to the pound?
Anyone know a good place i can read up about this?

    Cheers

Ive been buying car bits for a while, never had a problem?
Might be the fact the FootLocker have their own internal process that they wont send to the UK? (probably due to credit card fraud)

They wont sell to you for a variety of reasons. The big reason is that the manufacturere wont let retailers ship to other countrys and undercut the local price. Also the retailer wont want to get involved in exporting items, as tehy would need to all teh export paperwork. Its worth checking out ebay.

Hmmm strange, I wanted to get my girlfriend a necklace from over there for valentines but they too didnt accept my card, i asked my best friend to buy it for me but they wont accept that either. This is really annoying things are sooo cheap from there. Do you use visa or mastercard when you buy your parts?

Visa - though the www.summitracing.com site has the CV2 number as a mandatory field for the order.
I had heard of other sites (again car related) that were willing to accept orders IF a photocopy of the card was faxed to them - again due to the fact the card could be stolen/cloaned
Never had a problem yet - and if you ship with their surface post (6 week wait) it usually goes through customs easily

gotta remember, footlocker is in the UK as well, they may ship international, but don't bet on them doing it to markets where they also have a presence in the local market....

A lot of US shops are very parochial and believe that everybody outside the US is out to steal their precious things...

Very rarely had a problem with companies not accepting my orders, depends what companies you try and buy from, I have had to phone my bank in the past to authorise payment to places in the u.s as for some reason they kept thinking there was something fraudulant going on with the card. I did try and buy an esp guitar once though and got turned down because esp won't let companies ship they're products abroad.

Its mainly due to credit card fraud reasons & the whole customs declaration thing. Low value items eg dvds, cds are usually ok & some pc places will accept order's upto a certain amount.
