I think the Argos group, which included Homebase, was sold to Sainsbury's, and Homebase started accepting Nectar, then Sainsbury's sold Homebase to Bunnings, and they are gradually refitting with Bunnings branding or shutting down. The one near us which shared a unit with Argos has had the Argos bit closed down and moved into the nearby Sainsbury's. Not sure if Bunnings are going to expand into the gap left by Argos or not.

Went into my local HB yesterday, I did say to SWMBO that it reminded me of a cross between B&M and B&Q. Half the stuff is special clearance, the other half is overpriced. They cant make their mind up what they want to be. Its a shame, I do prefer to use local shops for things like tools and hardware, and my nearest B&Q is the other side of town, over 8 miles away, HB is 1 mile.

Well I sincerely hope the Argos section in my local Homebase doesn't go, it's just down the road from me and so convenient. I not only get Argos stuff from there, but the eBay collection that Argos offer is really handy too.
