    Thats it, I quit

    Oh dear god, save me...

Long story short, I work as a web dev for a company which has an online catalogue of products. You know the drill, you come online, you login, pick your products stick it in your basket, hit a few buttons, pony up your credit card no and robert is somehow related to you, you've ordered something!

Now, today i get an email forwarded to me from our support dept. This woman had been trying to order some vouchers from the site. She put them in the basket. Got to the basket screen, but then the site would apparently 'close down' when she tried to put in her CC number.
Support monkey sent an email back to her asking exactly what she was trying to order etc, give the exact error message blah blah.
    Back came this....

I click on 'Add to Basket', and then 'Finish Shopping and Order'. Then it shows me the totals and shipping costs. Next i click on 'Logout' and the shopping window closes and I am returned to the page where I have to input my username and password. When I login again, the items are still in my basket, but when I try again the same sequence occurs again.

Hang on a tick - Logout..... LOGOUT?!? Why are you clicking logout FFS?? Logout is in the top right, completely opposite the 'SELECT PAYMENT METHOD' button in the bottom sodding left, of course things appear to 'close down' when you hit Logout, thats what Logout does you smacktard!..... ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!
And if i was to kill you, I would be the one to go to prison.

Its not even like its because she was a technophobe, surely even someone who has used a computer for 30 seconds would know the difference between 'Select Payment Method' and 'Logout' *weeps into keyboard*

*deep breath*......ok i feel better now

And I thought I was being stupid getting our nice IT man to show me how to connect to our wireless network this morning!!

She probably got confused between logout and checkout. It's an easy mistake to make

    Cheers for the laugh BTW

oh god, i'm sorry for you there. thats more pain than one man should ever have to bare!
perhaps you should give the classic answer of; "unplug the computer from the wall, un do all the cables, pack it up in its box - not missing any parts - and return it to where you got it, cause you're clearly too dumb to use it!!"

ok got time for one, almost as bad, on one call a caller was asked to right click on the desktop, the next thing that was heard was the typing, they were physically typing the word 'click' on the keyboard <holds hands and slaps forehead in one smooth motion>

Working in support, I know exactly what you go through with cases like your logout woman, I got a good idea, get rifd of it, explain to customers you have removed all non essential buttons to aid simplicity, therfore, once on the site all you can do is buy, buy buy

As part of my job, I have to work in a carphone warehouse store once a year to "gain better customer focus".

However, the company I work for makes high-end phones and the majority of people who come into the shops just want the cheapest thing available, so I end up spending most of the day fielding general mobile phone questions.

One girl came up to me asking how to set-up voice mail on her phone. I told her to hold down the number 1 key and it'll ring through to her voice mail from where she can set it all up. She does it, listens to the recorded message and asks "It's saying that I should press 2 to set-up my voice mail - should I press 2?".
