    That's just ludicrously bad.

There'll be some Nigerian kids not getting their birthday presents this year...

Not as bad as the new bug with international characters where you can make www.paypal.com go to a dodgy site by using www.pàypal.com. Firefox obeys the standards and actually converts the à to a for display purposes so it's the standards that are at fault. It only goes to show that you should never click a link in an email, always type it in yourself

thieving nigerians suck... but I do know a few nice ones, have a lot of time for them too. its the ones that have discovered the internet that p*ss me off...whats so remarkable, despite all the warnings, you still get people filling in their details and getting robbed!

Who is it that's going round changing this email - in two separate threads now? Or are they both quoted from the same source?

At 07:38 that email was spelt like several bad hands at Scrabble - now it looks like the Queen dictated it to a professional copy writer

I've just sold a car on ebay to a robbing bugger who now wants me to accept his "friends money transfer" for £3000 too ,much and all I have to do is forward him the spare £3000 to his western union transfer account.

There has been a spate of spamming over the weekend. I've got about 200 in my work e-mail. As I'm working for an ISP we get the abuse reports too. Mind you. Knowing what's in them it amazes me that people actually get taken in by them.

There was one from Vincent price (the dead actor)
One from Mr Wang Qin (the penny will drop if you say it fast enough)
The age old Nigerian money laundering one. It's so obvious but people still fall or them.

if someone just walked up to you in the street and asked you for your bank account details you'd tell them to get lost. But if someone sends you an e-mail and asks then some people will glibly pass the information over. Anyone remember the wordperfect helpdesk guy who told the customer that they were too stupid to own a computer? I think he had a point.

Happened to me twice when trying to sell a phone on ebay, I even said no zero feeback bids, no postage outside of UK, no sending to your fiancee, wife, sister or any relative, payment by cheque, bankers draft or UK bank transfer and finally, no scammers.

They're just time wasters & thieves & I wish Ebay could/would do something about them.

these obfuscation techniques have been around for a while and do trick people into clicking them.

Bottom line, never click a link in an email. Always type it in.

    No....reeeeeally?!?!?!?! Well I never.

However in the context of things and the almost identical e-mail from Wang Qin (amongst others) I think we can for once safely assume where the name came from.
