Eu countries and US expel Russian diplomats

In the wake of the Salisbury nerve agent attempted assassination, the US, France and several other EU countries are also expelling diplomats.

So quite a lot of support for the UK over this.

The Russian embassy to the US launched a Twitter poll on Monday asking users to vote on which American consulate should be closed in Russia.
Emm,wut?? Trump seems very quiet BTW.

    Edit!!

There seems to be some noise about looking at the dodgy Russian money flowing through London too, which is probably the more significant thing here. Some of this has been linked to political payment in Europe.

Not just US and 14 EU countries. Canada and Ukraine, too.

Also, Donsld Tusk gave a barely guarded hint that EU countries may not be done yet. The implication being drawn from that, and his remarks about further measues "wighin the comings days and weeks" not being excluded is that it may depend on Moscow's response.

Personally, I'd like to thank Putin for for doing what I thought was impossible - getting both UK and EU diplomats to remember that despite Brexit, there are plenty of things where the UK and EU share common values, interests and objectives, and that an exit that works for both sides is better than an antagonistic one .... for both sides.

Re: Eu countries and US expel Russian diplomats

It's bizarre the Cold War has determined much of history since WW2. It was behind most of the Proxy wars, but these days mostly it is enacted through cyber crime, or expelling each others diplomats. And while all countries are subversive through spy networks, this poisoning, and the Letvenyenko polonium case are equatable with Terrorism(endangering citizen's lives).

So I think the UK, US and EU countries have to draw the line. It's good to see the support for the UK. But later it will become history, diplomats will return and Putin's official mafia will carry out vindictive hits with impunity.
