Soup is really the perfect meal, the correct combination of foo d and drink all in one lubbly bowl...
GO get some of Sainsbury's finest Chinese Chicken and Sweetcorn soop, tis delish- Failing that, get Asda'a mexican tomato and pepper or summat soup, comes with sourcream for pouring over :D Yum

I made Broccoli and Stilton recently.....unreal flavour :)
Broccoli and Stilton is my GF's all time fave soup.
Beetroot soup is also very very nice.
Chicken Cup-a-Soups are my fave. (I suck at cooking so making soup with a kettle suits me just fine :))
LOL
pity you can't get it over here - watties (now heinz) used to do the best chicken noodle soup in town...
luvverly it was, loads of noodles, and loads of chook too! very tasty.
I like the pasta cup-a-soups :) very tasty and also dirt dirty pot n00dle

I made soup......
1 oninon fine chopped.
4 new potato's with skins on, fine cubes(or two large normal spuds, its OK).....sweat both off, in a deep saucepan with 3 glugs of olive oil and one spoon of butter..(sweat means fry real gentle so it kinda steams in its own juices and DOESNT brown)....10 min like that......then in goes 1 pint of chicken stock.....(use a stock cube).....2 red peppers sliced finely...2 courgettes, finely sliced, or frankly any other veg you got hanging about........boil with lid on for 15 mins......gentle people, gentle......then big grinds of black pepper and a little sprinkle salt.... NO TOMATOS IN THIS ONE
then BLEND with hand blender or food processor.....it goes a lovely orangey red........get rid of ALL lumps on this one.....
Then let cool for 1 minute...where it all seems to thicken nicely just a bit....
serve with hunks of bread and butter......
total cost.......less than a £1.50.....feeds 2.....beautifull :)
oh by the way.....Soup made like that often tastes better on DAY TWO....keepin fridge after its cooled and re heat next day....
NEVER BOIL on second re heat......keep stirring until its hot enough to burn your tongue but NOT boiling :)
