Fine, then you forced me into it. I shall educate you all in advanced nouveau reasoning and continue repeating my mindless twaddle until you all succumb to my way of thinking or get so exasperated you simply forget who I am and why you started talking to me in the first place. Hah! Now counter that one

look I don't know why you keep asking me these questions. I've said all I'm going to say and certainly no more with all these listening devices around that might spot something I say that isn't correct or in line with common thinking.

    ps es ist "der Verbotenhammer"

    "I see, sir...
So sir actually removed the unit from its installed location, did sir? Without the authorisation of us, the legal owners, sir? Congratulations, sir is now the proud owner of an Alexa, sir, and I shall add the cost of a brand new replacement unit to sir's credit card, sir... unless sir would care to have a seat in the bar, and await the arrival of the Police who have already been summoned, before answering to the charges of theft, damage to private property, and unauthorised work on a live electrical installation?
    Sir would not?
    Very good, sir.....

    Will there be anything else?"
So, not read section 1 of the Theft act, then?

    That.

Only add a few more no's. What's that ruddy great number? Googleplex? Ironic, somehow. Anyway, a few dozen Googleplexes (Googleppexii?), to the power of a Googleplex, ought to make a good start. Put it this way, at a billion no's per second, if we run ought of no's before the universe ends, it wasn't sufficient no's.

Hmmm, courtesy of a search engine that doesn't begin with G (and oogle) I think I meant Googolplex. Whatever. A LOT of no's. More than grains of sand ( or similar, of other chemistrys) on planets in this solar system.

Re: Alexa in your hotel room

Just locate said listening device inside a sealed suitcase with a wireless speaker playing 742617000027 by Slipknot and place in the bathroom for the duration of your stay. Who/Whatever trawls through that data isnt coming out of the other side in a pretty state.

I haven't read it, but do you think he might be referring to the bit about theft has to have intent to deprive? Moving something to give to its owners is not theft, and SFAIK such a charge would not stand up in court. Similarly criminal damage would have to demonstrate an intent to harm/impair/destroy. Unplugging something hardly constitutes that. Throwing it off a balcony or drowning it in the sink might get closer.

Yup, but a bit more than that. About 5 elements are required to reach "theft" including a dishonest intent to permanently deprive. Fail on any element and it ain't theft, It's why TWOC'ing was introduced re: cars - it's far broader. You took it? Yup. Owner consented? Nope. Clang, guilty.

Basic constitutional right - forum posters are allowed internet non-lawyers. You'd deny him his rights?

/makes note in little black book.
