I hope he left early, or it'll be over by the time he gets there.

Maybe I ought to cycle to it. I'd far rather by cycling that watching football .... even if long cycle rides barely rate above root canal surgery.

Not a footy fan? Me? Whatever gave me away?

Curiously I spent a little time earlier this year working out how long it would to take to follow the England cricket team around the country in next year's world cup. It'd be possible by bike, if work didn't mind me having a couple of months off

If I was going to do a 2600 mile bike ride like that, though, I think I'd be looking to do it sponsored for charity - it's a little bit far just for the sake of it, no?

He was doing it since it was the cheapest way(apparently).

The article says he spent $700 on a bicycle in Dubai... But a return flight from there to Moscow is less than $400.

    There's commentary here about cyclists...

Oh, I wish. Can't even turn on my local BBC radio station without the football-obsessed presenters nattering away about it. I mean, it's happening 1500 miles away. What part of "local" don't the muppets (*) understand.

Got any spare space in your cave?

(*) Yes, it's a mildly derogatory term, not a reference to Kermit & Co, before someone accidentally on purpose misunderstands.

Its also going to be a long return journey, assuming of course that he is going to be cycling home.
