Curiously I spent a little time earlier this year working out how long it would to take to follow the England cricket team around the country in next year's world cup. It'd be possible by bike, if work didn't mind me having a couple of months off ;)
If I was going to do a 2600 mile bike ride like that, though, I think I'd be looking to do it sponsored for charity - it's a little bit far just for the sake of it, no?
He was doing it since it was the cheapest way(apparently).
The article says he spent $700 on a bicycle in Dubai... But a return flight from there to Moscow is less than $400.
