Whichever side of Brexit or politics you're on...

You'll find this hilarious. Theresa May and the Holy Grail. Just brilliantly done.

    Um, no and yes.

    Extremely well done, yes.

    Hilarious? Nope.
    Funny Nope.
    Amusing? Well ....,no, actually
Mildly comical? About as much as an ingrowing toenail.

But then, that's what I thought of most of Monty Python, when it first came out. Which is to say, 5% hilarious, 95% stupid and pathetic.

Sadly, this falls in the 95% bit. Clever, though.

The lesson to be drawn? Sense of humour is very individualistic. Mine does not include this. Or the Simpsons. Or .... well, a long list of shows many people find hilarious.

Re: Whichever side of Brexit or politics you're on...

Okay so perhaps we need some IFTT statements to divide those who will or will not find it hilarious.

IF you found the parrot sketch pathetic, THEN don't bother.

I think it's the choice of scene with the speech that does it. It just completely changes her attempts at profundity into the pathetic blathering it really is. I reckon you could do the same with most politicians. It's not just the silliness, it's how it changes the context of what she's saying so well and exposes just how fake, pathetic and moronic what our politicians say really can be. The "getting on with the job" one was particularly good at exposing the "this is my talking point and I'm going to stick to it regardless and will apply no initiative or thought in the answer of this question" mentality that all politicians use on screen.

Except Godfrey Bloom. He just used to get annoyed and batter the reporters with the nearest manifesto... now THAT needed no parody.

Only fools and horses? 95% hilarious and 5% daft.

Red dwarf? Had moments but could never get into it?
Family guy? As Simpsons, not for me.

And avoiding going through decades worth of comedy is exactly why I said "a long list", so that's the last.

The parrot sketch is in the hilarious 5%. It's up there with "four candles" as a classic.

As for the sketch, I found most of May's brexit statements as, to put it politely, "fake pathetic and moronic" without needing the change of context to point it out. A less polite way might be deceitful garbage .... but then, she's a politician and that's what they do. And have been doing for the 50-ish yeats I've been watching them, and no doubt have probably been doing since neighbouring cavemen met round a fire to argue over huntjng grounds.

Whatever suits you, I don't have an option here to upload one for you to ignore

Erroneous browser agent sniffing or tied to post count, I really don't know.

Anyway, we apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.

There are a number of features and facilities that become available when a registered member reaches a certain qualification, usually in terms of length of postcount, membership, or both. Some of these are designed merely to be a minor reward for activity on the board, but others are to prevent abuses by new members, and especially spammers.
If it's intended to be 'a minor reward for activity on the board', for some site users post count might be a poor metric to use. My current browser profile shows 1,200 visits here over at most the last 2.5 years, more probably covering only most of the last year. This count isn't fully representative of my activity here as I've not included counts from either of the two alt. machines from which I occasionally check the forums, or, any access prior to at least Jan. 2016.

If you want to prioritise post count over quality posts, that's fine by me, you make the rules.

But post quality doesn't necessarily weed out the spammers / spam bots, where was post count does. Generally someone isn't going to sit around for a few hundred posts and post normally, then suddenly start spamming..

That reads like an argument but I'm not sure what it's for/against

I do have some experience weeding out bots, spammers, trolls, etc.

Post count is a measure of contribution to discussions

No - but weeding out spammers (and post count pimpers - ie, those who post pretty pointless posts just to boost their post count) is one of the things the moderators do
