    Wristbands

....they seem to be the fashion at the moment, and many in a good cause.

but why on earth do not make more of them to make more for charity, instead of making them rare and £10 a piece on ebay!?!?!?

anyway...when we gonna get the Hexus.net wristband?

There's so fricking many of them, going to have to start carrying around a colour chart.

"Look at me, I support bollock cancer!"
"You ain't got nothing on me, I'm against poverty!"

if i did sell any on that i have got (which i won't cuz i dont have enough! lol) i would definitely donate the proceed to charity.

but on a worse note, walking past a local toyshop (toymaster) they were advertising FAKE 'livestrong' bands, in all different colours and they called them 'fashion bracelets' or something. Now i believe that is just plain wrong, and is very low, i doubt they are donating any money to the charities, and one of my friends bought one and they were substandard quality.

is it possible that nike could file a lawsuit against the toyshop for impersonating the products?

I have to agree they are soo many now! and I also don't understand why they don't make more?!.. Seem a tad strange as they can see how popular they have become.. And also if they made more, then the people on ebay porfiting from charity wouldn't be able to.

Which is definately wrong.. As they are selling for like £15 when they paid £1, which is the amount that will go to charity. .Also seems ludicrous that people want to pay this much for a 'charity band' when they know that the money will go in the persons back pocket!..

The people that pay these silly amounts for the bands are not buying them as "charity" items. They are a fashion statement to them. Summed up nicely on another forum: "The ultimate self indulgence". "I care" "look at me".

I actually support these bands. So what if they've become a fashion accessory? it's still making money for the charities, as long as people arent stupid enough to buy them off ebay! but sadly they are and people are making huge profits on them and it's really sad to see people taking advantage of charities like that

However, i think, if hexus were to offer these bands for £1.50 (inc p&p) they could make a bit of money for the upkeep of the site and forums (not just to slide into David's pocket ) and people would buy them. just a thought

I would prepared to buy one.. Especially as the forums are offered to use for free.. Maybe make them something like £2 and half goes to HeXus and half to charity.. That would be a cool idea.. Helping the forums and charities..

I can't stand them tbh - I'm fed up of being sat in the LRC next to girls browsing ebay and saying 'omg pink wristband for only £4.99 on ebay! must buy!' - just about *everyone* who has one at college got it on ebay - personally I think they look pants anyways cos they remind me of the rubber bangle things with keys on you have to wear round ya ankle at the swimming baths for your locker .

The main reason I hate them is for the attitudes of people buying them 'Yeah this ones for cancer so I'll look really caring' (yes...i actually heard some1 say that. )

I give to charity as and when, not for fashion. lol

(no offence if you've got some off charities etc, good for you charity rocks! )

im more of a red nose man myself, though i dont wear it. loving this years with the funky grinning face.

they sell poverty wristbands here at nottingham uni, but they aint the silicon ones, just a simple nylon thing with a clip, much more stylish in my opinion.

i wouldnt wear a wristband thing, i just shoved £1 in the pot, someone else can ahve the wristband

Ditto, loadsa the people I know are like that, when I want to show how much I care about Testicular Cancer in South East Moldavia I won't wear a bright orange rubber thing and I wouldn't buy it off ebay either. I support red nose day and give to charity as and when, why should I be made to feel guilty because I havn't spent £30 on ebay buying these things.

No offence to those who got em legitimatly of course, thats fair enough.
