I'm having a few from Lidl's shelves... very succesfully I have to say.

Same. Used to drink a little, but never really enjoyed it so stopped about 10 - 15 years ago

Worked through a couple of bottles of Aldi wine this evening - a new world Riesling to go with dinner, then a Romanian red to accompany a game of Terraforming Mars after. Both very good wines, at very good prices. Hard to beat Aldi and Lidl for wine and beer nowadays...

Lots of hops, but very drinkable...

Doom Bar here, although LIDL sell Spitfire Amber Ale, which is quite similar.

I have to agree with the thoughts on Aldi and Lidl selections of alcohol, they're fantastic. At least, they were until the Scottish government decided to shaft us with something resembling the Discovery space shuttle, enforcing minimum unit pricing.

Four cans of their Brasserie 1897 was £2.49, it's now £4.49 for the exact same cans

I'm gonna be tucking into a pack or two of Heinekens tonight while pwning some n00bs in Rocket League, six 330ml cans in Tesco for £5.

Yes, the alcohol level was enough to sterilise the beer - it was often the safest thing to drink when cholera and typhus were prevalent. (AFAIK - obviously I wasn't there! )

Unfortunately I'm on Stella. Not through choice but because it's all that's left. Given complete choice it would either be Punk IPA or some random ale I found somewhere.

Had a Bath Ales "Lansdown" last night. It's described as a West Coast IPA, and it was very lovely. The other one I've tried from them is "Gem" which is more of a golden ale - bit lighter than the Lansdown, and just as tasty

Picked up some interesting beers from The Wild Beer Co and gave them all a shot last night - mostly lovely, though the Yuzul, Kelp and Sichuan Pepper Yokai was... an acquired taste. I think I acquired it by then end...
