    It was not titsup.com.

Nildram, one of the providers of bandwidth to us had a failure with one of their Juniper core routers (Around 40K of kit) this kit was swapped out in rapid time to get us back online.

You may have noticed Jolt was down too.....

    Core Network Problem corenet
    Comment added on 02/03/2005 14:42:04...
Our engineers have just reported that a large part of the configuration on the switch that was lost has been restored and most services should be working again. They are still completing the last bits of the restore process so that all systems will be back to normal, this should be complete in 15-20min.

    Comment added on 02/03/2005 14:21:24...
The problem has been identified and configuration on the switch has been lost, this is in the process of being resolved. The engineers have estimated that this will take 30-40min to complete.
I will update in about 40min.

    Comment added on 02/03/2005 14:18:43...
There is now an eng at Telehouse who is investigating the problem, I will put another update on within the next 20min.

    Comment added on 02/03/2005 14:01:36...
A switch at Telehouse on the core Nildram network has just gone down. This will affect all Nildram and Trinite customers. We are in the process of assessing the situation and will have more information in about 20min. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Damn - Nildram are usually bloody good as well, and I cannot sing their praises enough really. Saying that - stuff does go wrong with routers, PC's et al (I know..I get to hear about it all the time @ work) and knowing nildram they will be on the ball and fix it very quickly indeed.

My old connection was on a nildram pipe @ my mums - she loves it and they provide some excellent customer service indeed.

I've just noticed that it took 40 mins for them to fix the fault... thats DAMN impressive

Cant argue with 40 mintes tbh, think it was down for 2 of my @ work browsing sessions which either means I'm really busy and havent been surfin much or there pretty quick...

I'll let you draw your own conclusions to that one

yup, everything is now up and working again here - gtr-game.com too *yay*

Can't really argue with 40 minute fault recognition and diagnosis

Its almost as bad as when people leave home without their mobile, we lived without the things the decades, now if you leave the house without it for more than ten minutes your wracked with worry.
