    How was your 2018?

We're getting to the end of the year, so it's a perfect time to reflect on the last year of our lives. What did you achieve this year? What did you see or do that made it worth a year of your life?

Myself, I had a rather good year. Professionally, I spent the first half of the year doing some very rewarding humanitarian work in a third world country. I changed jobs back in July, and qualified on a very different airplane type, and then used that training to leap in to third job which, if all goes well, should lead to a seriously bucket list experience. Ask me about that around April(!).

Personally, I skied a Black Diamond for the first time, and not all of it with my face. I visited a new country, Costa Rica, which was warm and friendly and ate some seriously good food. I drank too much, ate rattlesnake for the first (and probably last) time, and managed to lose about 30lbs.

So, fellow Hexans, how was your year? What did you do which was epic, and what will you do in 2019?

You're just going to lead with that are you?

Just like, "Hey, I had an okay year... I was James Bond. How was yours?"

How is anyone expected to follow flying, humanitarian work, exotic travel, good food, extreme sports and eating things that normally kill you...for fun? Quite frankly, just the weight loss is hard to follow.

But yeah, I had a good 2018. Thanks for asking.

Well if you are going to be James Bond, that casual attitude toward such endeavours is very much in keeping with the character...

    In a word - rough.

Death of Sallys daughter last October made 2018 a difficult year emotionally.

Now I've just had my P.I.P. payment taken away from me - cuz Im perfectly healthy, which is course, rubbish. Sent in a mandatory Reconsideration letter and form, fingers crossed.

    2019 can only get better
    Cheers, David

This is the highlights reel.. Weight loss was due to some very bad conditions in that third world country, and I didn't mention the bond girls who left me with a heart repeatedly broken. But that just leaves stuff to do in 2019!

    Re: How was your 2018?

I created another life. only took me 20 seconds.

In 2019 i will be visiting a nice person who will be stopping my life creation abilities with a quick snip.

Got 4 kids now so wife and i will be getting into shape as if i dont, i will get fatter. I am also going for my BIFM level 3 so i can progress up the management tree, and i might dabble in content creation and game streaming for laugh

You look like the picture of health to me! Hopefully you get that figured out. Governments love their bureaucracy, so good luck with the tree destruction.

From what I recall, you also increased the Grandchild count this year as well?

People say having kids is hard... I couldn't tell you myself, as I'm still practicing, but 20 seconds can't be that bad!

I'm told that bags of frozen peas may be your new friends.. Getting in shape (The normal way) is definitely worth it. You want to be able to chance after the kids. I'm told wives don't like it much if you lose them.

I had the snip less than 2 weeks ago. No pain at the time, and only a dull ache for a week or so after if you go the laser method.

Well worth it. Particularly as before they'll pronounce you sterile you need to, erm, clear the pipes. 40-60 times.

The wife didn't believe me until she read the NHS letter. Obviously she's now committed to taking part in that process, it's for medicinal purposes!
