We lost two great musicians over the past weekend.
On Friday (the 13th no less) we lost Edward Joseph Mahoney ("Eddie Money"). Eddie perhaps wasn't as well-known elsewhere as he was in the US, but I bet a lot of people recognize the song "Two Tickets to Paradise".
On Sunday we lost Ric Ocasek from The Cars. Who doesn't remember "Drive" (which Ric wrote, but didn't sing on), probably one of the best songs of the 80s.
RIP, you two.

I saw this and wondered, because the article I read didn't give any clue .... died how?
It's always sad, but for someone so young, and self-evidently exceptionally bright and talented, and with a bright future ahead of her, it's especially so. And at that age, it's .... unusual, at least. Which made me wonder .... illness, car accident, something more insidious? I don't mean intimate details, especially if illness, but just a broad idea.
Anyone read anything that gave even a general idea?
might be too soon to know. We had a close friend go suddenly (and young) a few years back. No reason. Just went. Autopsy inconclusive, but could have been X Y Z, but long and short, it just happened. Makes you realise none of us are owed anything and there's no guaranteed shelf life on any of us.
I've known a couple of young, apparently fit people just drop. One got up from his chair, walked about halfway across the office, stopped and dropped. Paramedics said it looked like a massive stroke/brain eneuryism and that he was probably dead by the time he hit the floor. It could have happened age 5 or 75, and if it happened in an operating theatre, they still could have done nothing. Another, a friend's husband, went to bed one night and never woke up. Left a wife, 3 young kids plus a newborn.
Both were mid-30s, fit, active, non-drinkers, careful eaters.
So yeah, you could be right - cause currently unknown.
You're certainly right about none of us ever knowing what our personal future holds. I figure, assume for the best, but plan for the worst. And especially if you (*) have any form of assets .... make a will. A surprising number don't and it can cause serious delays, massive hassle and considerable unnecessary expense.
(*) Generic 'you', not you personally, ik. I expect you have that sorted.
