What happened to the 1660ti 3gb?

I saw the rumours didn't believe it happening; surely not even NVIDIA would try and launch their full-fat TU116 GPU with only 3GB of GDDR6.
Having said that, I can fully see a 3GB 1650 or 1660.

If you really want a card that is slightly cheaper than a 1660ti, because chopping 3GB off probably saves about a tenner, may I suggest one of the bargain Vega 56 cards?

Nope. I'd rather have a 6gb card from the previous gen tbh if I was saving money.
