Given the hand she was dealt, and with out the full backing of her party, she did a reasonable job - and her gender is irrelevant - the parliamentary arithmetic doesn’f change with Johnson in charge. No deal would not be good for the U.K.
admin mode. While everyone is entitled to a view, however ridiculous it might appear to some, the point of debate is to attack the point of view, not the person. (The exception is expressing views that are overtly racist, homophobic, hate views and overtly sexist when the poster might reasonably expect a suspension or ban)

Anyway, curious times.
The US, now the UK, who do you think will be the third country to get a New York born blondie into the top job?

The point where my belief in UK politics could sink no lower. I didn't like May but I could at least respect her (even if I disagreed 100% with her policies and ways of proceeding) but Boris I have nothing but utter, utter contempt for. Vile man who would jump at power at any cost. He'll happily throw millions on pointless vanity projects, speak carelessly causing an innocent woman to face jail time in Iran and happily lie to further himself (kipper incident for a more recent example). Makes me disgusted to be from the UK... That man does not, could not represent me. We as a country really need to get away from filling out top jobs with public school boys who play power games for fun and one up manships with their class mates - all because they speak a little posh...
in this case I agree. Utterly.
Public school is potentially a great place to learn to do these jobs. To earn great qualifications, while meeting the right people and in many cases, the intellect and brain power has been superb. Schooling helps. Eton is (normally) a good example
But in this case, I fear many positions/schools he's held/been too have been engineered by family and old money.
However.. now... we are where we are ....and we have to let him do his best. We can't change it, yet.
time to stop pulling on the leash.. slip that leash and let him run. See what he's like in real power. It might possibly occur that he will do some good. If not... we shall see

The last person this country needs at the moment is someone who goes AWOL at the first sign of difficulty.
Greenpeace blocked his Mall drive.
That's a first.
I do love democratic protest.

As a Journo he said Brown was a coward for not calling an election, I wonder if he still holds that opinion?

Good speech. A lot of promises for things that are badly needed, and accepting responsibility.
Already a better PM than May, but we'll see how long that lasts.
