Re: Will you use Libra? (Facebook's new currency)
I don't use/like/care about Facebook, so I certainly don't give a damn about it's currency.
I suppose the next time it gets scragged for invading your privacy, selling your data or otherwise infringing your rights, it'll get away with making amends by offering you a fistful of Libras - to purchase goods and services only through Facebook and it's certified affiliates.
Re: Will you use Libra? (Facebook's new currency)
Just to take a different approach, how about that name - Libra?
First thought, in some languages that's very close to 'Pound', e.g. Livre in French and Libra in Portuguese. Not confusing at all.
Second, Libra is an astrological symbol represented by weighing scales. Not the scales of trade, mind you, but the scales of justice... held by Themis, the personification of divine law and custom. Really, Facebook, really?
You're not the arbiters of anything.
Go away.

To be fair, if it's not in Dollars or GBP and other words are in English, it'd be fairly clear they were dealing in Libras... Librae... Librarae... Libraria... Library... well, okay, failry clear they were dealing in FBL - Facebook Libras™...
Besides, anything else will be in Euros and the pound won't even appear, as things are now sold in metric kilos and grammes!

No.
I'd rather see "real" crypto currencies succeed since they're decentralised.. at least Bitcoin, Monero, ZCash etc are, Ethereum, XRP/Ripple aren't. Facebook isn't a force for good imho.

About as safe as leaving it in my wallet with a missus and 2 kdis I guess...
I've already lost money with crypto exchanges folding and making bad buy/sell calls, yet I still have money in Coinbase and will quite happily stick something in this, but as with anything, I only put in what I can afford to lose if it doesnt take off and goes to 0...

Space-in? You alright, dude? Erm, somebody call spacein an ambulance. I think he took me seriously and had a heart attack.
Just for clarity, I will certainly hive due consideration to Libra ... starting the day the sun (our solar system's star, not the newsrag) goes nova. And after such consideration, then I'll tell FB, in anatomically accurate detail, where to stick Libra.
TL : DR version ...... No.
Well looks like I've just lost a tenner.
Balls.
