Quite the opposite, both literally and metaphorically... (up north and I have actual experience of the subject matter, i.e my job involves biscuits)

Have to say, I've never even heard of Abernethy biscuits (that I recall), despite being Scottish and having lived 'up North' for a while. Apparently they even sell them in the local shops here...

Being a Brit abroad in a extreme coffee drinking country, it has always been tough finding biscuits like back home to go with my cuppa (tea), but just recently a local supermarket here now stocks Hobnobs

But yes agree Malted Milk biscuits are lovely, need to remember to pick up some packets when back in the UK.
