    So far.

    But it's very likely that there will only be a few years difference between the birth date of those who live to be 200, and those who live forever....

    Mortality caused by flu was the implication from the rest of the sentence, sorry if I wasn't clear.

    Re: Coronavirus

    It seems to me the problem with Corvid is:
    * It's ease of spreading
    * It seems highly fatal to older people or with a weak immune system
    * There is no vaccination

    Brushing it off because Flu is already endemic seems disingenuous. I can't see my old man surviving a respiratory infection, he's vaccinated against flu so has a reasonable shot at dodging that each year. Corvid, no such luck.

    That, and that it takes so long for symptoms to appear.

    Re: Coronavirus

    The way I see it, it's just another excuse to add more legislation, fees and tracking at an international border crossing. Now they'll be a law for you to declare all your health records before going somewhere. Airlines and cruiselines will now have to pay for quarantine areas upping your fees, waiting times and other general misery at a port.
    It's just a slightly worse cold than one you've had previously. Sadly as with all illnesses you may die and that is just a fact of life

    That's never happened before with SARS, MERS etc. Why now for CORVID-19?
    Now they'll be a law for you to declare all your health records before going somewhere.
    Why? Health records have no bearing on whether you carry CORVID-19 or not.

    Why would they?

    Dying of a cold is incredibly rare, even in people who are old or ill. This is a different ballgame in deadliness.

    Re: Coronavirus

    Covid-19 has a low 1-2% mortality rate, most (if not all) have underlying health problems.

    At this moment in time panic is more dangerous.

    Time to chill out a bit, let the bods who can do something about it get on with their work without world hysteria distracting them.
    Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.

    1-2% among those tested and confirmed with the disease. With most cases having mild or zero symptoms, it's very likely that a large proportion of the infected are not being tested. This means the mortality rate significantly lower.

    Re: Coronavirus

    Dr John Campbell is a good man to be listening to on this situation:

    At 4.49 he talks about the R0(infection rate) .. Its going to be a pandemic in other words, basically we're in the early stages of a pandemic at the moment. In one of his videos from a day or two ago he says the "WHO has lost all credibility".. probably an understatement.

    The main concern I think is the potential breakdown of supply chains causing a recession or even a depression in some countries plus civil unrest.
