Coronavirus / Convid 19 - coincidental solution to China's "One Child Policy"?
Apparently almost 70% of the people that contract the virus are male, and the death toll is also heavily skewed.
So the question is, is Coronavirus / Convid 19 an engineered virus made to try and solve the results of the "One Child Policy".
I have no proof, niether am i convinced it's anything more than a coinidence (at this point), it's just a hunch based on the fact the Wuhan Institute of Virology, is based in the city, and China has needed to deal with the legacy of the One Chile Policy.
If you don't know about the policy (that has now been abolished) then you should have a quick read, but basically it means a lot of families usually choose a male baby but also that the aging population can not be supported realistically as they reach retirement. The Amazon Prime documentery (one child nation) is worth a watch.
So if it wasn't a result of human engineering it's quite the fluke of fortune for Xi Jinping and the communist party of China who in my option will do anything to keep hold of power. Also the death toll is possably much higher than being reported and 2 journalist have gone missing over the last week.
Im not tring to spread FUD, i would like a discussion though, and if poepole have any bits of information, or points not raised then please post.
Re: Coronavirus / Convid 19 - coincidental solution to China's "One Child Policy"?
I'm no epidemiologist but I'd hazard a theory that in the localities where the virus has taken the strongest hold, i.e. Chinese towns and cities, the demographics are such that those who are most vulnerable - the old and the very young, of this group it is the older men who tend to be out working and are therefore at greatest risk of exposure to infection. This is also true for other causes of death, e.g. work accidents, and is a factor in why the male life expectancy is generally lower than that of females around the world.
As it's the old and very young who are the most vulnerable, even if the virus was selective for male fatalities, I can't see any positive outcomes for the Chinese government to get rid of baby boys or old men.
In the same vain as that conspiracy theory I could accuse Porton Down for being responsible for the release of nerve agent in Salisbury simply down to geographic coincidence.
So meh, not convinced in the slightest that the virus was engineered to specifically target males.
Re: Coronavirus / Convid 19 - coincidental solution to China's "One Child Policy"?
your point makes logical sence, however the young arn't so vunerable to this virus. The young that contract it have very mild symptoms. It's a possiblity that it generally only kills smokers which are mostly male in China.
Re: Coronavirus / Convid 19 - coincidental solution to China's "One Child Policy"?
It's not unusual for some infectious diseases to be more harmful to adults than children. Take chickenpox as an example, it's usually a relatively mild (if unpleasant) disease for school children but can be quite serious if someone catches it for the first time as an adult.

I would be more surprised if the Wuhan Institute wasn't based in Wuhan..

Unless there is a massive skew to killing old people; economically it makes no sense. You need working people to run the economy regardless of sex. The inverted pyramid of age groups is the issue. Anyway there would be easier ways of knocking off pensioners.
Warwick university is in Coventry if I'm not mistaken.

True! What does that mean?! Are they conducting stuff so sensitive Warwick wouldn't let them be in Warwick?!

I think people just need to dial back on the hysteria a touch.
Re: Coronavirus / Convid 19 - coincidental solution to China's "One Child Policy"?
The 70% of those infected/in a serious condition being men maybe quite natural, since men have weaker immune systems, when it comes to viral respiratory infections:
https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/n...men-maybe-so#1
"The evidence in current studies points towards men having weaker immune systems than women, especially when it comes to common viral respiratory infections,"
The bio-weapon theory doesn't really need to exist, considering the conditions the virus arose in. If however it was an escaped bio-weapon, if it was deployed in a country China wishes to annex (Taiwan?) in theory, it'll knock out more men than women, perhaps effecting their military/infrastructure.. and when it is annexed there will be more women than men, perhaps for the victorious young male Chinese soldiers to settle down with! ;)
Anyway the dullest theory is the most likely imo.
