Today's fun is to be had , thus....

    Go to Google Maps

Search for Bank of Endland - ie the place, the building. It is a tourist spot.

    then read the reviews

I swear, the general public shouldn't be allowed to type anything.....

"This was the worst purchase experience of my life! My lender, Leanea Sonds, promised we could close in 18 days but we couldn’t even close in 30. I was prompt in returning all documents and proactive in checking in to see if anything was outstanding. I was called on FRIDAY at 3:30 pm to let me know we weren’t going to be able to close on MONDAY by her ASSISTANT. My mortgage lender didn’t even have the decency to apologize or call me herself. This delay was due to not knowing my husband has a green card which I vividly remember informing her of on our initial call and the address being wrong on a document she had had for weeks. His name is also Pedro and he has an accent like Antonio Banderas not sure why she didn’t ask when she spoke with him if she had forgotten. I was then rushed to sign paperwork that had the WRONG rate on it. The seller was mad and wouldn’t sign the extension (delayed due to Bank of England’s fault) without us giving him $500. I have never had to work so hard to get people to do their job in my life. I thought many times about just walking away from my earnest money because the process was so miserable. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!! Or micromanage your lender like it’s your job!!!!"

    What were they thinking?

    and

"Ok have difficulty understanding government policies in particular FHA loan qualifications. They do not work with scores under 620. Honesty is very lacking which can be accomplished with classes in communication, I am sure many colleges (Temple, Penn State, and Community just to name a few) can help them in that area. Avoidance is not the answer for denials adequate explanations and offered positive suggestions is."

surely this cant be Bot reviews?

    I mean...

"If I could give zero stars, I would. Every day broker changed his story and kept offering different programs of which he said we qualified for. Wasted so much of our time, my agent's time and the seller's time."

theres'a a pattern here.. American mortgage brokers maybe? Blaming the Bank of England on something and suggesting people leave neg reviews ? I dunno.. just very very odd.

The FHA is the Federal Housing Administration.
The person names as L Sonds is a mortgage vendor

cough https://www.boemortgage.com/ cough sounds like our government should have taken out some trademarking. As usual it appears to be the dumb-ass keyboard warrior firing from the hip without checking where they're posting their vitriol.

Re: Today's fun is to be had , thus....

Based on those you quoted, my guess is that all of those US residents wanted to buy property in the UK, but had problems doing so for whatever reason, and mistakenly thinking the Bank of England is at fault, while assuming that it's a bank brand, like their own Bank of America, rather than what it actually is.

EDIT: But in the time it's taken me to write that, it seems we've found the actual answer. Baffling that people would post the reviews in the wrong place like that, but I can't say it's actually that surprising.

I'm feeling a little aggrieved that they have that name..

The Old Lady of Threadneedle St doesn't deserve that , does she?

Given the claim on the website of having existed for 121 years, I'd imagine it's something that there's nothing that could be done about it.
