    Rickrolling the boss

Anyone know of any Bluetooth speakers which stay connected for the duration of the battery life? Mine disconnect and power down after a period of time of not receiving anything from the phone.

I require a Bluetooth speaker which either has a long battery life or can be charged whilst in use which remains connected for around 8 hours even when there's no input.

I don't particularly want to buy multiple speakers to find out which behave how I require and which won't.

(It's going in the ceiling void).

(I say it.... they are going in the ceiling void).

If you were to combine a number of speakers with CCTV, such that he hears the voices no matter where in the building he goes.... That would be spectacular. Possibly also seriously damaging to mental health. I approve.

    Hmm...

I don't know of any such speakers, but also to throw in for consideration; the 'connected' noise that at least all my BT speakers make and the limited range of BT - accidental BT disconnections and reconnection noises, could give the game away.

I use a little Sony Bluetooth speaker I 'borrowed' from my daughter which I link to my phone to play Spotify all day long. It still stays linked and playing right up until it closes down due to the exhausted battery and stays linked and playing when charging. Model is SRS-XB10. It can be loud enough to upset the neighbours and sounds pretty good, too.

    Re: Rickrolling the boss

Cheers all. And believe me, connection noises are not an issue.

That sony one sounds excellent. I can link them to an external battery pack to keep them going a long, long time.

I was also considering one placed in the chair and two in the ceiling void so the sound is coming from everywhere.

    Never gonna give you up......

You could also try these ones. Sounds like they should be just what you're after; they last ages and don't wear out easily.

fyi latest versions of firefox and chrome prevent the autoplaying I still think they should hard-code an exception for one special case, just for old times' sake, maybe I should put that in a suggestion.

It would be a heck of a plot twist if the subject of the prank was a Hexus member.

I have done this to a member of the Hexus forums. I played a couple of youtube clips in his office from outside. He knew exactly what was happening and I just heard laughter.

This new target is definitely not a member of the Hexus forums. Unless there are any members of Hexus who believe a PC is made of pixies and possibly black magic and best interfaced with using (at most) two fingers and typing three letters every four seconds in order to minimise contact.

I only recently heard about the annoy-a-tron. Shame they don't exist any more, but if you want to annoy someone it is worth googling partly for the funny stories and product reviews and partly as a warning of how rapidly things can go out of hand!
