    Merry Christmas & thank you

This year has been mad with our lives turned on their heads. In times of turmoil something that is familiar becomes very reassuring and this place has been one of those things for me. Helping keep me sane (or at least no madder than I was before,) as we've all navigated the constant change.

So thank you all. The ones I agree with, the ones I don't possibly even more so. The ones who challenge, the ones who complain, the jokes, the outrage and the sarcasm. The ones whose response to a thread you could have written before they did. We don't always get on but I'm grateful you're all out there and on here.

Have the best Christmas you can manage, and I hope next year treats you better than this.

Re: Merry Christmas & thank you

I completely agree with that, spacein. One of the things I love about HEXUS is that, usually, we can have arguments with people we disagree with without it getting nasty. I was on a gaming forum this morning, in what I would have thought was a thread on a pretty innocuous subject, and it rapidly descended into a vitriolic insult-fest and flame war. I left.

I actually like disagreeing with people here. Mostly, you get rational reasons for it. It challenges my own views and gets me thinking. If I can't think of a good counter argument .... maybe I'm wrong.

But then. those self-same people I so often argue with are often true friends. If I ask for help, they're among the first to jump in with it. And if that doesn't suggest generosity of spirit and reflect the true point of Christmas (not the commercialisation that leeches, parasitically, on it these days) I don't know what does.

So yes, thank you one and all. Especially the mod team, to have to referree my arguments.

I completely agree with the sentiments expressed thus far.

Many thanks for this great community, I've been a long time lurker and over the years I have witnessed good quality responses/solutions on problems others are having.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Well said space Invader. Merry Christmas all, hope you're able to enjoy it. As for being able to predict posts before they're written: "so 2020's been a really good year. It's a shame it's nearly over..."

O'hoy! Well sorry to break it to you, but I don't, I've been stranded in northern Europe for close to a year now. I also travel a lot through work so whenever I put my hat is home for the night, more or less!

Re: Merry Christmas & thank you

Couldn't have put it better. It's been a hard year and at least HEXUS has been here for us to bond as a community through thick and thin. Plenty arguments, disagreements and whatnot but it's all water under the bridge as forum life goes. I certainly hope everyone is staying safe and we will see a better 2021
