YouTube goes down

Probably didn't affect too many in Europe but YouTube actually went down, quite heavily.
I did reboot my laptop, initially thinking the browser had a mental breakdown then deciding a reboot might fix it.

I wonder if any data has been lost, or whether they were guarding against a hack attack.

I started seeing posts from about 11pm on Facebook - but it was still working for me so didn't pay any attention, I had music playing fine in the background.
Roughly about 12 mine stopped & started, took ages to load the next music video, which is when I thought my laptop was breaking down, by 1am all I got was an error message for any video. Wish I'd taken a screenshot.

So yes you shut down YouTube!

Because it happened so late here, I can't imagine many noticed.
