Working from home in for tv

So I work in TV, pre lockdown my day job would mean heading into the city and working at a production company on a freelance bases. When that job ended I moved on to another production company and so on, that's if I kept my diary full of bookings.

So now in lockdown for nearly a year now and working from home like everyone has been a proper challenge.
What is effecting me at the moment is the feeling of dread, as every day I go into my spare box room and repeat yesterday only with different content.

Groundhog Day is one of my favourite films, but omg this is how it feels. I know I should be lucky to be working but man it's hard to stay motivated.

I feel exactly the same, hate working from home with a passion. Whats worse is that my employer says when all this over & we can return to the office, it will be on 60/40 basis. I.e. 60% of time working from home, 40% in the office! .

If you live on your own it can be pretty lonely. I've been working from home on and off for decades, and didn't always have a family around me.

Spend some of the time and money you save on commuting going to the local pub for dinner on a couple of the days you are working from home, once we are allowed.

Re: Working from home in for tv

For myself I just really struggle to concentrate at home, normally end up working into the night as I can focus more... and so I'm now working overtime for free.. not ideal.

I really don't know if it will go back to normal for me, it's now proven that it works and they are prob saving money on office space and kitchen supplies.
