It used to have its own space+sticky. I have to admit I'm not sure why it got moved. One for the powers that be to discuss. There also used to be a welcome/hello thread where new users could practice making a post and get a feel for how stuff worked. It was a banal thread, but as someone new to forums at the time I found it useful. That one got removed entirely.
If you can't find a decent summary then use common sense, to which I would default to:
- Play nice
- Be respectful
- Don't swear
- Don't do/promote anything illegal (and that includes slander, libel, defamation etc)
- No porn/NSFW
- No advertising/promotion/linking to sites to generate traffic to another site or take traffic away from Hexus
- Post counts get rewards to unlock additional functionality/areas of the site eg access to classified ads
- The retail area has additional rules - read them, and comply.
- Don't feed the trolls
- Don't be a troll / sink to their level
- Respect the mods
- Always respect the mods
- Don't be a tool. Don't provoke people
- If you're getting upset walk away and take a breather. Report to mods if necessary; don't rise to the bait.
- It's the internet, people will have different views and opinions. If you can't accept that then this isn't the place for you.
- Tolerance is listening to each other and discussing our differences, learning about different viewpoints and respecting that. Flame wars and shouty-shouty benefit no-one and just lead to locked threads. You learn much by listening, little by speaking, and nothing when shouting.
- Don't make frivolous posts or pointless resurrections of old threads
- Try to avoid making multiple posts in succession in a thread - edit your post and/or use multiquote (for example if you need to add something)
- If you need to share images use something like imgur or imgbb etc to host them if you can't link to an image via its url.
- It's the internet - be careful what you share, with whom, and how.
- Remember you are legally responsible for what you post, and your actions. There are ways to identify you should it become legally necessary to do so.
Note that's not the official rules, just what I would carry around as a good starting point.
