drilling holes in a skateboard (longboard) for trucks..

has anyone done this? my trustly longboard got run over and snapped earlier but fortunatly *right* in front of the rear truck - it was really long so i'm just going to shorten it and carry on, ghetto style. basically all i need to do is drill 4 more holes in the deck a bit further up for the rear trucks. anyone got any tips??

Its not too hard to do.
I've done it, with a hand drill. I used a riser plate as a template for the holes; I taped it in place whilst I drilled them. Blu-tak the truck in the place you intend to attach it before you do any drilling - you want to check it will be stable (i.e. not too far forward). Basically, you want it as far back as possible, in the centre.
    Easy enough.

cheers - thats what i thought

i've still got a fair amount of board left - it was 48" iirc, it'll now be a 40"er

i'm going to have to shift the truck forward a little, as where the board snapped it took some chunks out of the back of the board

Yup. Also, as the board is now broken, it will "De-lam" - basically the glue will be eaten away by water and rain, causing the plyboard of the deck to peel apart. This will cause problems eventually, so don't expect it to last too long... sorry.

Bit of clear varnish should slow down the water affecting it, mate did a very similar thing with one of his boards.
