Is it another case of giving away the keys to the kingdom so to speak?
So you lead the world with a desirable premium product, that is one of the few valid exports Scotland has these days. So why do you voluntarily sell to your biggest market not just the design but entire fabrication of a working distillery - and the art of making and shaping those stills is half the battle. Ok location and aging and barrelling all matter, but is this wise? Is this the business equivalent of giving the Russians the RR Nain engine back in the 40s? I believe the prophet Gandalf would say "keep it secret, keep it safe..." Or am I just too pessimistic?
