I have some chewing gum, will that do?

Not really, blutac will stay soft where chewing gum will go hard and then not work as well, I guess it depends how long you're planning on using it..
ISTR someone using blutac for like this back in the 80's, and he used something like an M8 nut with the middle filled with blutac which looked nicer and he thought firmed up the bass a bit with the speaker coupled to the desk by something not so springy as just plain blutac.
Just kidding about the chewing gum! I found some Blu-Tack but it's been in storage for so long that it's hardened like plastic now, and is unusable. I know I have some dashboard matting (the kind that stops phones slipping) in my garage that I'll hunt for after work today. That should provide some damping and grip.
Just roll the blutac around in your hands..
And yeah, I was half-joking about the blutac, but it'll work as the speaker vibrations would be dampened by the softness in the blutac, obviously chewing gum would work for the same reason, but would harden over a few days and make it less effective :D
My suggestion of blutac doesnt give off the impression that we don't do things properly round this way? :D
Stumbled upon this thread as I'm in the market for speakers that'd fit my setup also. Those adhesive wall mounts look like they'd actually do what I'm after. Thank you for that!
