Really? I see that several times a week.
Depends how often you visit, and especially when .... as in time of day, or rather, time of night. I'm a night-bird so often pop in at silly-o'clock.
But overall, I'd say busy-ness dropped off quite a lot after the review site shut down. And quickly. Then pretty much levelled off to the current fairly quiet state.
Personally, I'm glad it's levelled off to a slow but steady rate, because the alternative was to vanish in a puff of digital dust. But I think the dominant factor is that in order to stay busy, one thing is utterly essential - constant new content. And it's no longer there.
And of course, we're well and truly in the days of 'new' social media sites, and traditional forums are old hat. Which is why I like it. Firstly, it's familiar and comfortable. Secondly, take a look at who is posting these days and the bulk are long-standing old-timers and it feels like chatting with old friends. I mean, I've 'known' most of you lot for years, many for the best part of a couple of decades. OUCH!!
So yeah, it's much quieter and I miss the old humming busy buzz of chat too, but I'm grateful it's still here at all, and we all get to stay in touch. I guess it means the owner is still paying the hosting bill, and I'm grateful to him for that. too.
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".

It certainly looks like the start of the end
The way it was announced that Hexus was shutting up shop I think played a big part in the quick drop off in the forum. My recollection is It sounded like it was all going and not until many posts later was it made clear that the forum would be still kept online. I think many took it like I did when I saw the initial post, then left and never came back. Including many regular forum posters.
Maybe I was in the minority but I never really read the front-page content, the forum was my primary reason for coming here even if I don't post much.

I'm still waiting on word from the website Tarinder was meant to be setting up, is there any news, or did the plans fall by the wayside?
You mean Club386 thats been going for a few months to so now, does reviews and competitions and has a fair social media presence?
This is the 2nd online community I feel like I'm part of that's slowly dying - the other being the spin-off forums from PCZone - Dear Wandy, which must have ended over 10 years ago now. It was never as active as Hexus in it's heyday, but felt very much like a small community of gamers all UK based. I guess I'll be heading to OCUK's forums eventually, but will be checking in here untilt the lights are turned off I suspect!
Thanks for the headsup on club386, hadn't even head of it! Shame there's no forum at present.
