Makes you wonder how some people manage to breath unaided eh...

I've only ever played about with Sub7 twice, once I put it on a few machines in the library when I used to work at a college and managed to convince one of the "script kiddies" that I was some uber hax0r from America, afaik he never figured out why we were laffing in the opposite corner of the library

The there was 1 episode of scanning AOL ip's with sub7, found one guy with an unpassworded sub7 install on his machine, had a poke round and found a load of sick stuff on his machine, so I changed his autoexec.bat to format c:\ /s/q/autotest then started to talk to him via the chat, he quickly paniced when I mention I had seen the contents of his drive and that I was going to report him, I told him rebooting his machine wouldnt be a good idea but he didnt seem to listen...

That is possibly one of the funniest exchanges I've ever read...127.0.0.1? There really IS no place like home, especially after you've formatted it...

I didn't think it was possible to format a C: whilst using it? Or a least possible to remove any of the files that are currently in use, therefore why would he have timed out since all the files in use to keep Windows running and the connection stable would've been in use?

Ya, but if certain files are removed from your harddrive/memory, Windows XP/NT/2000 does that forced shutdown/reboot thing... i'm guessing thats what happened.

    hehe thats great

dieing a death like all script kiddies eventually do and should - they give hackers a bad name. They dont even use the correct terminology

Hacking is none malicous, usually invited by the owner of the system to be 'hacked'. Hackers are generally employed to test the security of a network/system. Other than that hackers will try to break random systems, and when when they find a hole, report it to the owner without causing any damage to the system.

Crackers are the malicous gits who go out with the aim of destroying systems, wiping hard drives etc. Thats what these script kiddies using sub7/bo2k etc etc are trying to be

    lol quite funny

But I can't help but laugh at Metanot for statements like
"<Metanot> lol ne give it up i'm a hacker myself and i know how hackers behave and i can tell you 100.00% you're no hacker.."
    also

That and how it's been drilled into me that its 'cracker' not 'hacker'.. or so the lecturer on security and such believes.
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?
