They seem to have gone for the safe option. His conservative thinking is in line with JP2 and at 78 is close enough to croaking that reformers/south americans know they will have another chance.

Tbh you dont generally get young cardinals cos it takes you your whole life to get to cardinal status, so all popes are going to be quite old.

As much good as the last one? Not that I mean to disrespect the last pope but I got real tired real fast of hearing about how he was an amazing man who changed the world as we knew it, no doubts he was prolly a top bloke but come on did he save the third world nations from starvation? Cure cancer? maybe he went over and helped clear up the chaos after the tsunami?

No, its honest hard working people in labs and in aid centres around the world that do their best to help stop these problems, not old people in silly hats

The thing i found funny abt the elections is ur vote is guided by the ***holy spirit*** . I mean how the heck can u be guided by ***it*** and in this 21'st century world if they vote like this it is a shame as the pope chosen could be really bad at its job. Sorry, if i am being a bit imature(spell?).

Well if you had any clue about religion at all you might realise their entire faith might just happen to centre around such things.
