The middle one is excellent![]()
That one in the middle is quite eye-catching. There's something funny about the viewpoint, looking down through trees at the sea (lake?) Makes it look like a bird's-eye view (I guess it really is, judging by the 3rd pic!) It's just different enough to make it stand out. The sillhouetted trees, reflections and interesting clouds all help. If you saturated the colours in the sky it'd make a nice poster.

hmmm...let me see, stanley park and grouse mountain?
I like the middle one. brilliant. (hink the camera's wonky in the first one!) me being picky would like to see a bit more contrast/saturation in the middle one, easily rectified in PS. but as it is its a very good shot. well done![]()

Dunno, I love my eye popping colours hence my previous addiction to Velvia but sometime subtlety can be just as goodOriginally Posted by shiato storm
.
Edit: makes for a much more relaxing photo IMO.
No, that's the world famous Lake Slopey, the only place where you can go water skiing without a motorboat.Originally Posted by shiato storm

Again, nothing that can't be fixed in a graphics program.

Thanks for the comments guys, as I said I am in no way a good photographer but i would like to be. I used an Olympus C-50 to take these photos. How do I improve the middle photo as suggested Shiato? Also how can i make the top one less wonky?

That second one down is fantastic, I love pictures of the sky.
Wow thanks for the comments i guess i got lucky with that 2nd picture. It was taken from the top of Grouse mountain as guessed by Shiato, and it is looking down onto Stanley Park and English bay and a little of downtown too.

Nice! my cousin lives there i think, his wife invited me up once, i would say yes but the airplane tickets are expensive!
Hey, you only need one good photo to be a good photographer!Originally Posted by wedge22

In photoshop you could use the commands:
Image/Adjustments/Hue-Saturation/Saturation=+30
Image/Rotate canvas/Arbitrary/2 degrees clockwise, then crop edges.
What paint programs do you have?
I posted the above changes, but my web host seems to be down right now.
EDIT> Is back up now...

If you right-click the file and OpenWith, there might be another MS utility that can view/edit graphics, e.g. Picture Viewer??Originally Posted by wedge22
But why not just download IrfanView ? Highly rated, under 1MB, and free.
EDIT> Just downloaded it myself! It loads a LOT faster than PhotoShop CS, lol.
And it has commands Image/Enhance Colours and Image/Custom Rotation. Well worth a try.

well, you took a fantastic picture, all I did was adjust it a touch to bring out what was in it.
i'll try and recreate what i did and pass on how it was done. I used photoshop for a start but if you haven't got it then you can get a free image program called 'the gimp' [gimp.org but it seems to be down right now]...
