what would i need to do this??

    ello chaps n chapesses..

right, me and quite a few mates who use my car for longish jouneys have mp3 players that charge off usb.. so i've had a think and i recon that if i butcher a usb motherboard extention thingy, and get a plug from maplin, i can somehow make a female usb socket that runs off the lighter socket.. (handy eh?). now my only question is, what do i need to turn my 12v car supply to 5v usb? i'ts been farrr to long since i last did physics

Not in stock, but they are available on ebay. I have one for my bluetooth GPS, but I also have a very similar one for a PDA that gives 12V, so worth checking ebay ones are 5v
