    The Sun Has Gone Out.

Right, for the last few years, the Sun (great sports pages, great TV pages, lets be honest, crappo news pages) has been 'supporting' Blair and his New Labour government in a lesser of two evils type way. Hinting that whilst they might be a disaster, there is no real alternative.

However, with the recent - VOTE BLAIR stuff, I have to throw it in the bin. Vote Blair my itchy left... erm, foot. So, I need a new daily paper. I'll probably still buy the Sun on the days Littlejohn is published, as he is by far the best newspaper columnist writing today, but apart from that its committed the ultimate, heinous crime.

So, which one? Can be a 'proper' paper, but must have a cracking sports section, a Conservative leaning would be good, obviously, and all round it must be generally a cut above.

I was thinking about the Daily Mail or the Times. Not that I've read it (the Times) for a good long while. Any regular readers care to give me the facts, nice and quick?

I'm open to all suggestions, apart from the Daily Mirror, Daily Star, Guardian (obviously), and anything a bit too 'proper newspaper' like the FT. (What’s long and pink and hard in the morning? The Financial Times crossword. )

So, suggest away my fellow forum users.

Don't read the mail, its for middle england imbeciles. The times is a good enought read and the sports coverage is excellent.

Simple: Viz...ok not a newspaper, but more realistic, cleverer and far better value.

I read the Times. Although it's not my choice which newspaper, I prefer it to the other newspapers I have read. Comes with Su Dokus as well!

    I agree!

While you're not exactly going to be up on current political affairs, etc, you'll know all the current ins and outs of racing, and the rest of the sports covered are usually very high quality!

When I'm not sat with a bottle of water, a cigarette and a copy of the Racing post on the bench at the front of my house, I can be found browsing the reuters website :>

The Guardian here, although probably should note that the columnist don't really swing in any strong political direction as a whole.

Sports section's good, it comes as a full seperate magazine a couple a times a week along with the usual 'backpages' stuff on other days.
