    need a new camera

    got about 175 max to spend
    it has to be digital and compact - its gonna be used for ebay, holiday snaps etc

    This is a good place to start. Amazon have some good deals. Just look at the reviews and bestselling etc.

    I am in the same process as you and Ihave read all the reviews, great little camera.

    I have the previous generation of it, the F401, best looking camera there is, small and takes some great pictures.

    See my for sale thread in the forum to have an example of the pictures (btw, I think it is sold)

    Jessops are doing the Olympus AZ-1 for £130.
    It's only 3 MegaPixel, but it's tiny and looks great IMO.
    (Trust me, it looks better in reality than in the pic.)
    Perfect for eBay / holiday snaps.

    u cant go wrong with a canon a95 which is very slightly over ur budget, or for a lot less than your budget any of the other A series such as the a80/a85 etc general concensus on every photography forum i go on is them two whenever anyone asks a similar question

    if you can stretch a bit, I'd recommend a Casio Z-50, I have a Z-55 with the bigger 2.5" rear screen, lightning power up time, movies with sound 5 megapixel, very compact and superb battery life
