There is some good footage on the BBC website. There are the standard news reports but also a bit of raw footage.

Imagine if one of those beauties crashed with a full tank of fuel......it'd probably turn the planet to glass!
Why don't you try Airbus.com ?
Or you could try a little known website called Google I'm sure they could help.![]()
Ok sorry for the sarcasm. On a more serious note I worked on the fuel system for that aircraft. Very impressive too.
It carries fuel in the wings (obviously) but also in the tail wings. The fuel can be pumped between tanks in these areas in order to manouver the aircraft.
e.g. Turn left = pump fuel from right wing to left wing.
This allows the plane to do slight turns and to keep the aircraft trimmed and balanced without the need to use the control surfaces (which cause drag) thereby reducing fuel consumption.

There were also a few funny technical problems to solve. e.g.
The emergency escape shutes for the upper deck (the yellow things) had to be especially designed because if they calculated that if you had to escape and slide down them you would be doing over 30mph and would be injured when you got to the bottom.

Yeh i was having a look today. It's crazy how big it is. Imagine flying something that big! Crazy. Shame they haven't invented a new method of propulsion yet though![]()
all I know is, working for a cargo airline, thats a whole lot of package space

It's cool...just a shame it's so fugly. A consequence of the design I suppose.
At first no pilot could land it without knocking off a wing or something like that. It took quite a bit of training in the simulator
The pilot said it was like riding a bicycle, maybe you have to crash a few times before it becomes second nature.
Am i the only one who didnt get a sense of 'greatness' watching the small clips on the airbus site?
I guess they should have shown a normal sized jumbo next to it
