Mmmm the smell of freshly baked bread. That lovely cracking sound and the rise o' steam as you break it open. Luverleeeee.

I used to drive my work colleagues mad by bringing in homemade bread dough and baking it in the cleanest oven (the plating test oven) we had in the metallurgical lab where I worked. They would come into the office at 8.45am and I would be sat there eating fresh bread. Fantastic.

oh god yeah... I like the top crust best - espesh when it's really cooked, almost burnt. I also like the ends of the loaf.. to make the best ever round of cheese on toast - take each slice at the end of the loaf and make it with them. HEAVEN.

50/50, if its a nice pizza, say from pizza hut then yes, if its a home baked one by yours truely, and I forget... ends up burnt then Ill leave it

Bread its 50/50, or should I say 75/25, I normally eat 3 and leave the top brown one as it tastes nasty(er)

Fresh bread is just the best ever. I eat so much of the stuff when I buy it. Its great just plain. Obiously by fresh I mean fresh, not hovis or kingsmill crap.

Pizza crust is so dam good. I had some today and enjoyed the crust mightily. Hmm this thread is making me hungry *goes and gets crusty bread and muchces through a whole loaf*

Pizza hut is not real pizza, you need to go to a local pizza shop that acttually makes decent pizzas. Pizza hut pizza hut pizza is just too oily for me.

The brown crusty bit of bread is the best bit! I love that taste.

Yes I eat the crusts on bread and pizza, especially if its Papa Johns Pizza cos you get that yummy garlic butter to dip them in!!

Besides, surely EVERYONE knows that eating the crusts on your bread makes your hair curly??!!

Aslong as it's not the dark brown/black bit at the top or burnt (pizza, though I've yet to burn one myself ). Definately agree with Tumble in that the crust ends of a loaf make a great cheese toastie.

its the culture in the uk kids hear that people dont like vegetables and crusts etc so they think and tell themselves they dont. Even most adults are like that here.

I read about a study which concluded that babies only need to eat something they dont like 3 times and they will get use to it. kids about 5 times. It reported that it takes about 27 times for adults to get use to things they dont like.

Big thick crusts make the best toast - covered in marmite or jam
