    The metal plate speaker is aaaages old, it was on TV years ago and he was pointing it at people on the street without them knowing. They just stopped and started looking around when they walked into it

    I don't see how it's dangerous though...

    I saw this on tomorrows world YEARS ago. It's just a spotlight for sound.

    Same as ajbrun, it was pretty amazing.

    You could do what the devil does in "End of days" (arnie, year 2000, end of the world), put a voice in the kids head while he skateboards in front of a truck

    I think the sound spotlight seen before was slightly different. It had a conventional speaker in the centre with an ultrasonic emitter around that. This was available through seinheiser for a limited time for £300 and v cool to freak people out with...

    "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!"

    Or making waitresses drop things by 'sending' them smashing sounds really loud

    Still, awesome technology.
