Carper protector mats? (To protect from chairs with castors)

Just bought into that Viking executive chair deal but it seems to be denting my carpet. What do you guys use to prevent this?

I saw this one at viking:

    http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/(3g3k...&brmd=consumer

But £20+ ?? Anything cheaper? Couldnt see any on ebay

They used to be int he lakeland catalogue, but i can't see them online anymore...

EDIT: try a local independent hardware store... ours seems to have bits of everything, i'll pop in and have a look if I'm in town.

I've been thinking of doing something like that, the dents aren't too big.. Although this part of the floor is more dirty than the others.

I have a plastic mat thing my dad got for me. Think it cost about £35. Bit expensive really but it does work!

I've seen normal carpet protection pads for dirt etc, but i want office chair-specific.

I think i'll have to go for the viking one at this rate, i suppose i'll be using it for years to come so the price isnt that bad.

Cant help thinking i'm paying too much for just a single piece of rubber/plastic

I reckon that would still dent the carpet underneath after a while, and would probably make it harder to move around

I've had a Viking carpet protector for years now, not so much to protect the carpet, but so the chair moves about easily. It's well worth it just for that.
    Mine's like this one.
They seem a bit cheaper on the business website (though VAT isn't included.) Also Viking send out regular sale brochures, the chair mats are often included, but I've thrown mine away.
P.S. The printed catalogue says their chair mats have a lifetime guarantee.
