So what do i do in this situation? *Ebay*

I won an auction for a laptop, seller has so-so feedback.

I email him to confirm his 30day returns policy after i've won. And ask him about collecting the item.

He doesnt really confirm it and replies with this:

colletion is not possible we cancel this order if you want what would you say
Well, his address is in wales, his name is Mr Karakurd, his feedback is not bad enough to put me off it, but his emails are quite...unprofessional. And what kind of seller straight away offers to cancel an order?

Well, I found out in the next few emails that he doesnt even have the item any more

only left Sony Intel Centrino , 1.7 GHz, 60 GB, 15 inches, 512 MB, DVD+/-RW , 10/100 LAN Card, Firewire, Modem, Operating System, USB, Wireless Network Card

if you stil want this ok send payment to the this address
WTF, so i email asking him if he even has the laptop he listed in the auction (An S series Vaio), he replies:

    only got VGN-A215Z
Isn't this a complete breach of the contract set forth by ebay on listing an item? I mean, what would have happened if i sent him the payment straight away without asking questions

What can i do about this? I havent sent any payments but i'm p****d off that he listed an auction for item he isnt able to sell

leave negative feedback and grass him up to ebay, they'll probably suspend or remove his account
    It is Inevitable.....

I'd cancel the deal and report him to Ebay for breach of contract. Give them as much detail as you can, Ebay should then be able to change your feed back if the seller gave you a negative rating.

Negative feedback all the way. You'll feel better once they've banned him.

He accepts all sorts, but i tried to pay through paypal and the ebay check out said total of £790, but the paypal checkout said £900+ because he added VAT. I thought it was mistake because he must usually sell VAT applicable items so i told him to change it.

If i go through ebay and choose to pay by cheque it says the total is £790, and there is no mention at all of the VAT on the listing, here:

Oh right, yeah, i used my sister's ebay account for this since I have 62 feedback and she only has 1, so should anything have gone wrong it wouldnt be so bad for her to get a new account

Oh, thats new, it wasnt private yesterday and before, he must have just done it now

Also, lets say i went to buy a different laptop in a different auction etc, how far would ebay go if i was scammed? Lets say i send the payment to a UK seller with 0 feedback, and i never receive the item, what do ebay and paypal do?

All depends how you pay. Ebay will just ban the user, and if you paid via paypal you will get some or all of your money back. Its a long and complex process tho

    don't pay the guy.
he doesn't have the item you bid for - and discloesd this AFTER the bidding has ended, therefore you were not bidding for an item that you thought you were but in fact the guy is trying to pull a fast one. don't let it happen to you. report it to Ebay immediatley, providing all communications - state that you have them and will provide them upon request rather than bombard ebay-help-services straight up (well, either way really cause they'll want to see proof anyway) and describe the sellers actions from the point where you questioned him about the item not being the one you bid for, his change in feedback status etc...let ebay try and sort it out but don't give this guy any money as clearly you're not going to get what was bid for. simple as that!
    and good luck!

he's had 8 negative feedback in the past month - and he's hiding his feedback comments.

For me - thats enough not to buy from him. 8 in 1 month ????

Don't pay - report him to ebay, send them the mails (they send you an address when you complain) they'll ban him plain and simple.

Then look for another laptop on ebay or somewhere else.

    I wouldn't entertain this guy %1

He's also selling "learn how to make £500 in 2 weeks" I'm guessing this is a paper he's wrote telling people to sell items they don't have.
    It is Inevitable.....

Its blatend mis-advertising, Dont pay, report him, and give negitive feedback. Its not worth the risk. You might not find out what your getting unlitt it arives. And thats not on.
