Not heard of "cheese players" or "snerts" before, but griefing is a veeeery common thing in MMOGs - going out of your way to annoy someone (kill a monster they need, loot their kills, follow them round and attack everything they attack so they get no xp, etc.)
Asheron's Call was FULL of griefers, for example.

EVE-online was packed with griefers.... or PKers as they were called. They would normally kill new players in c**ppy ships then run before they get killed by the police. Also blowing up multi-million isk battleships just to be annoying..... Damn I'm glad I don't play that any more.

If your child is demonstrating strong signs of Internet addiction, consider seeking professional counseling.

That's so true. It doesn't happen that often in safe space, tbh, but as soon as you go into unsafe space be prepared to die if you are not equipped for PvP. You can still have a fun and enjoying game in 0.5 space and above though, but you won't ever be making millions a day...

Now these Pirates are quite handy. People who get killed by pirates often put bounties on them, all you have to do is try and collect those bounties!
