(i knew there was a reason a welsh university was better)
ESP with the week I've had... tonsilitis at the weekend, and now i'm in a collar for flippin' whiplash.
good old wales, shame you gotta pay for your injection mate, but £6, think yourself lucky, thats only 2 and a half pints to miss out on, many pay far more.

i had one patient on something like 25 different medications a few months ago!

incidentally, if you're poor, ie on income support or whatever, prescriptions are free

NI does not fund the NHS. It's just another tax. Same as the revenue raised from road tax and petrol (fuel tax) is greater than the money spent on roads. Welcome to modern Britain.

Typical Welsh (and Scots and Northern Irish for that matter) leeching off of the English for free prescriptions till 25. Demolish the Severn bridges and rebuild Hadrians wall is what I say.

Naturally i'm overjoyed at funding other peoples healthcare, not that I've ever considered myself flush. £13 a month is a bargain. I'm so happy.

    Really I am.

there was an interesting article in the paper (might have been the Telegraph) this week about how much extra is spent on Scotland and Wales compared to England. Its pretty outrageous, we are subsidising two third world countries!

Excuse me, i've been paying for my prescriptions since i was 18, it's only in wales that they're free. You really should check out facts before you start making sweeping accusations.

Twas partly injest - I know us (southern) English subsidise the rest of Britain but we don't mind too much - charity begins at home as they say.
