I just configured mine, and yes it does load a lot faster. It doesn't seem very accurate though. You just decide if you would describe you connection and computer as being fast or not. I put fast for both. I assumed you'd have to enter how much memory you had, your exact connection speed etc etc.

Basically, for mine I chose fastest for both options and checked every box there is.

I'm guessing once it's been tweeked, it can be uninstalled?

yeah you can uninstall it as it just changes the config files.

it says down the bottom, it classifies a fast pc as something > 1.5Ghz and 512Mb, and a fast connection is DSL, cable etc

didnt notice much of an improvement on mine. maybe id got lucky and set it up right myself
