Hardware sites...

I recieved a junk mail from a hardware site telling me about their latest and greatest review.

Oh. Joy.

Anyway, as this was unsolicited spam I replied with:

The following email was received by myself via the address ***@***. You are violating European Union law by sending unsolicited spam email to EU residents.

Please correct your mailing list accordingly.

...which is more or less accurate

Anyway, just had a reply:

Would you like to be removed from our mailing list?

...which really made my day

dont forget the person who answered your email is probably based in india or something

The next good question would to be "how did i get on your mailing list" ?

Maybe English is his second language ?

Whats the difference between unsolicited and solicited spam?

Solicited is where you opt in to agreeing to get mail from someone or some entity. Where you purposely put your email address into a form somewhere.

Unsolicited is when your email address is harvested, guessed or stolen, and used without your express permission, to send you email you didn't ask for and don't want.
