    good, read them all
pretty good discounts right now for them too.
but i'd get them at the library - just in case you don't like them

if you've not read it - get a copy of neal stephenson's snow crash and cryptonomicon

My mum bought me Angels and Demons and the DaVinci code but i haven't had chance to start them yet. I plan to eventually. Is it true that it's better to read Angels and Demons first out of the 2?

I really enjoy his writing style. The Da Vinci Code was a very good story. Have just got Angels and Demons but havn't started it yet, hopefully it will be just as good.

They're a good read, but I've read three now (Angels and Demons, the Da Vinci code and Digital Fortress, in that order) and they're all essentially the same plot...

Yep, I have to agree. Main character, love interest, conspiracy, foreign assassin, double crossing. Pretty much the same across all the books.

If you want an excellent read then I highly recommend Robert Ludlum's (Bourne Identity series) 'Janson Directive'.

I have read all the dan brown books. They are great, but dont read them one after the other as they are similar, as people have stated. I didnt read Angels and Demons before the Da Vinci Code; it didnt cause any confusion, it was very self explanatory.

As well as Robert Ludlem, read a Robert Harris book or two if you can. They are very good.

I disliked the way Dan Brown insisted all of his stuff was cold hard fact and his self righteousness has brough swathes of people out to disagree with him.

    Gripping reading but pretty simple.

I'm going to say something shocking now... Dan Brown it not that great a writer. Sure, the DaVinci code was excellent (although there was a lot of supect grammer), but he can only seem to do one type of book and story. I think the main reason the DaVinci code was so good was the subject mater, rather than the story itself. It was a great read but all his books are virtually exactly the same. Same charaters with different names, same plot structure. If you have read one Dan Brown book you have read them all. It's the Mill's And Boon of SciFi/Thriller. Thats not to say you won't enjoy them, you just have to take them for what they are. Pot Boilers.

LOL, Dab Brown is entiely formulaic, seriously. It wasn't until his controvertial book DaVinci Code came out that any of his books became famous - DVC came last of the four. All of his books have exactly the same plot, exactly the same character types, etc. His books are OK to read, but really are nothing out of the ordinary, he just copies the styles of other writers, injects some vague anti-christian hype which he insists is all fact, and has a bestseller on his hands.

I read the DaVinci Code, and whilst the story was interesting enough, I have to say that his writing style seemed quite pretentious
