    eBay- trustworthy or not?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...978198049&rd=1

    Seller's payment instructions
I ONLY TAKE CASH OR POSTAL ORDERS THAT ARE NOT CROSSED NO CHEQUE PLEASE AS I`M DISABLE AND I CAN`T WALK TO PAY CHEQUE IN THE BANK PLEASE DON`T BID IF YOU CAN`T PAY BY THESE MEANS ALL PAYMENT TO BE MADE WITHIN 4 DAYS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION PLEASE

The guys feedback seems ok but I'm not really familiar with postal orders, and if he can't cash a cheque surely he can't cash a postal order either.

    What do u think guys?

    Thanks

Depends on the price I guess. Like you say his feedback looks good. If it's less than a tenner I'd risk it, if it's much more, I'd be reluctant, another bargain will come along soon enough.

Postal orders are OK, cost about a quid extra though
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

Yeh I have done. Can anyone explain to me how postal orders work please? Do I just go to the post office and buy one or something like that?

Hmm - a few negs about email probs but seems to have been trading with the postal order thing for ages and no compaints, so I wouldn't worrry on that front.

If worried I usually send seller a questionabout item to see if they reply - good sellers usually do quite quickly.

Just buy them at the post office. I can't rember if there is a commission or how much. The seller is asking you to not cross them - when you buy them normally the person in the post office will write a cross over each one. This means the person receiving them can only pay them into thier bank account (the PO's have thier name on). This is more secure. However, if they are not crossed they can be cashed at the bank or post office which some people, including myself, prefer.
