    Favour needed

Guys - can someone check out the PC World website out for me and see if they do a cheap ADSL modem of some sort. I can't get on there (actually this is the only site I can access at the moment) - just timing out everywhere else.

I reckon the problem is my modem, its a few years old now and just doesn't seem able to cope with the speed upgrade

I know most routers have a maximum speed they can handle. Mine is 12Mbp/s. If yours is a few years old it probably only goes up to 1 or 2 meg.

Cheapest wired router I can see on PC World is £39.99 made by Zoom.

EDIT: sorry im mistaking modem/routers. mine is an all in one jobby so I always just call it a router

cheers guys - its taken me 5 reconnects to get this page back - not good, not good at all

I have an MRi USB Modem, it only works with the driver disk it came with, newer drivers off the MRi website don't want to let me connect, but I've had this problem and its got worse since the speed upgrade.

    Right - 30 squid then

    Gotta be done then

was gonna say... I've never seen a DSL modem that stops at 1 or 2 mb.. I thought the basic DSL standard goes upto 8mb and DSL2 will go upto 12.
